September 1998 Meeting Minutes
Present: Eunice McCredie, Helene Bethke, Peggy Perry, Mark Perry, Cheryl Lemanski, Janet Perkins
* Meeting held at Eunice M's home on the shore of Avoca Lake.
* Secretary report: approved by Helene, 2nd by Cheryl L
* Treasurer report: approved by Eunice, 2nd by Mark
* Pricing our Rural Register Obit Index, which has about 1,500 names and 43 pages (one side), was discussed. $10
for the index; plus $3 for shipping (via priority mail envelope) motion made Mark, 2nd by Peggy.
* We will make up 15 copies and then make more as needed. The photo for the cover of the Opera House could be used
or a new photo of its current reincarnation as Heilmanns Bar could be taken.
* A copy of the Index will be given to the Platteville ARC and the SHSW Library in Madison.
* Cemetery Indexing will be discussed at a future meeting as member Judy Temby was not in attendance at this meeting
as planned.
* Seminar: We will ask for permission to audio tape our speakers and tapes could be sold to those not able to attend.
* The Dodgeville Library is willing to house our ICGS collection in it's own area. The ICGS collection will not
be on their card catalog, as it will remain the property of ICGS. ICGS will have a data system of our own so that
items can be found.
* Cheryl L requested permission to put a copy of the Bourret certificate (ICGS Sesquicentennial Certificate) in
the family history book being published. Motion by Mark, 2nd by Peggy to grant permission.
* A microfiche reader for sale has been located by Helene. She requested permission to spend up to $20 to acquire
it. This reader would be used in the ICGS area of the Dodgeville Library.
* Next meeting will be held on Wed, October 21 at the Grandview house in Hollandale. This will be a potluck.
