ICGS Meeting Summary - March 2000
Present: Peggy Perry, Mark Perry, Kathy Stoltz, Cheryl Schmidt, Neil Giffey, and Carolyn Meuer
- Preserving a Millennium: a Workshop: The contracts for both speakers have been received; no word yet from our vendor. We distributed 1,100 brochures broken down as follows: Lands' End Genealogy Club: 100+, Iowa County Historical Society 350+, 100 for ICGS and 500 out into the public to various libraries along with the State Historical Society.
-Library: We have more periodicals/books coming in. Peggy has agreed to not keyword-catalog articles as PERSI already does this for us. We hope to have our books ready for the October 100th celebration of the Dodgeville Public Library.
- White Church Cemetery: This cemetery has about 600 stones and generated about 900 names in the booklet. This would be 86 single sided or 43 double sided pages. The cemetery booklets will contain: person that walked it, person who wrote the history, and the person that did the plotting.
We will be deciding project by project which projects will have actual member names given or if we will use a general notation such as: Project by Members of the Iowa County Genealogical Society.
Helene was looking for history material for various cemeteries.
