and Eileen Ardnt
Nice evening, out in the screen tent, candles and giggling!
The Sunshine Committee (Kathy) did her first duty as the new sunshine. The Society has always sent cards, we just
have a "committee" to do so now.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to a Georgia member who's wife is ill.
Dawn gave a report on her trip to Yellowstone to check on grizzly bears. Saw a few out in the early morning hours.
Newsletters- Received a couple of compliments on the newsletter. Hope she can keep it up.
Secretary's Report- Gene O Rama is a yearly function and it was June 15th. The Moscow Book is indexed not ready
for print yet. Motion by Kathy, seconded by Dawn approve the minutes with the corrections.
No Treasurer's Report. Kathy will be submitting a newsletter printing bill. Got a better deal so she saved a significant
amount. Perry's are going to check on some things at Staples. Have a card and may save some dollars.
Cemetery Books- Next book may be in the fall. Plotting Otter Creek.
Probate Records-almost ready to index. Dawn and Cheryl are biting at the bit to get going.
Moscow Book- was the 1919 version. Eileen gave us some info, 1976 four women indexed one of the versions. Discussion
on how to print; index or book with the index. Eileen motion to print the book with the index, Kathy seconded.
Library-Stuff is moving in. As stuff moves out of Peggy's house, she's finding more.
Farmer's Appreciation Parade-July 8. Home Health United is letting Mark put a van in the parade and put Perry's
trailer with the Genealogy Tree on it.
Possible new booklet telling of what Iowa County offers genealogically.
Double books at the library-What to do with? Discussed selling them at seminars, the ones that are duped in our
collection, have the library sell them at their sale. If it's a duplicated copy with the library, store our copy.
Motion by Dawn, seconded by Kathy.
Magazine subscription-Do we want to subscribe to one of the genealogy magazines like Evertons Genealogical Helper.
Eileen motion to table this matter.
Buying books for the library. Discussion on more of the "how tos" kinda books like the The Handy Book
for Genealogists. Discussed having forms available to copy, give out.
Peggy did the program on Vital Records.
Did you know that only birth, death and marriage are vital records, Divorce, probate are court records.
Meeting adjourned at 8:55. Motion by Dawn.
