ICGS April 2002 Meeting Summary

April 17, 2002 - Dawn Phelan’s house

Present: Dawn Phelan, Kathy Stoltz, Peggy Perry, Mark Peggy, Ripley the Bunny.

This was our Easter meeting. Playing with bunnies, cake and ice cream. We always discuss a new website that one has found, the website of the month. Next month’s meeting we are planning a speaker on quilts/underground railroad, so some discussion on quilts. The bunnies cannot be in the dark. Wussy bunnies. Newsletter ideas.

Discussion on our first newsletter game. Four people entered. We drew the winner, Josephine Garland Nattkemper. Prize of an Ancestry.com membership. Had a suggestion for the next game from one of the participants.

Secretary’s Report: A couple of grammar errors. It was mentioned the meeting would be at a Barneveld ladies, actually she’s from Dodgeville. Kathy motion to approve with the corrections/Dawn seconded.

Discussed the coming up meetings. We are moving the September meeting from the 18th to September 25th. Dawn will be in Yellowstone counting grizzly bears and she doesn’t want to miss the Tower Hill meeting.

Treasurer’s Report: Mark has the nice graph. Paying of the newsletter bill. Discussion of mail cost going up on June 30th. Kathy/Dawn motion.

Library Project, Cemetery Project-no new news.

Probate records- Almost all done indexing. Cheryl and Kathy did beat Dawn. Just for the record.

Moscow Book-Should be coming soon.

Resource manuals-Peggy gets a couple of responses each week. Connie DeMunth is helping with this project.

The new Membership book will be going out with the June newsletter. It will have Orchid covers. Took out some library offerings. Printing costs were discussed and they will still be pricing them.

Thank you from Cheryl and Kathy on the flowers for the death of their dad. Memorial on Bill Stoltz then.

Some new Business:
Discussion of raising the membership. Considering the cost of mailings, how much each of our mailings cost. The cost of just the 4 newsletters is $9.40. More discussion next month.
