ICGS Meeting Summary – August 2003

Present: Mark Perry, Peggy Perry, Kathy Stoltz, Cheryl Schmidt, Dawn Phelan

Secretary’s report: read and accepted by Kathy, 2^nd by Dawn

Treasurer’s report: While moving some things around the home office, the treasurer found some more membership requests for this year. All of these members were contacted to let them know of the error. Motion to approve by Dawn, seconded by Kathy

Mail was routed around the table

Projects:

• Moscow Book – still waiting on Dawn to send the electronic file. She promises to get it done before the next meeting date
• Funeral cards – nothing new
• Cemeteries – Eileen Arndt turned in a section of East Side cemetery. Connie DeMuth has turned in Dietzman cemetery
• Library – purchased a book on the Carkeet family
• Resource manual – nothing new
• Probate records - Eileen has the list of records that we current have. She will look for any others to fill in the gaps starting with the oldest. The $1 per page cost still stands right now. Eileen will try to see if she can work on a deal.
• Certificates: Old Settlers will have a picture of the Spring House on it while the Sesquicentennial certificate will have a photo of the Slag Furnace located in Dodgeville

Newsletters: Cheryl complimented Peggy on her notes back and forth with the members who had newsletter issues.

Publication printing: Cheryl contacted a local printer and received a quote of $96 to print 10 of our cemetery books. We’re doing this in an effort to get caught up on outstanding book orders. The quote was accepted by all present. Cheryl will get the books to the printer this coming week.

Website: The new design is almost ready to be rolled out. Watch for that to come soon.

WSGS Leadership workshop: WSGS is again this year sponsoring a leadership conference. ICGS will be allowed to send 3 people for free and additional people for $14/each. Mark, Peggy and Cheryl indicated that they would definitely be attending. Kathy isn’t certain yet and will let Cheryl know in the next day or so if she will be attending. Reminder: October is officer nomination month. Get the ballots ready!
