Sesquicentennial Ancestor of Iowa County, Wisconsin

The materials gathered will be a valuable addition to the history of Iowa County. It is not necessary for the applicant to be a resident or to have ever been a resident of Iowa County, or Wisconsin.

The applicant must show their descent from an early pioneer who settled in Iowa County, WI 150 or more years ago.

Instructions:

I. Complete the application and the direct descendant lineage chart as fully as possible, or your own Pedigree chart.
Use Maiden names for women if known
Designate with a question mark any data that is questionable.

II. Documented proof of your ancestor's residency MUST accompany your application. At least one official record of residency must be included - such as:

Land Records - Photocopy of deed with Deed Book number and page number or reference to Public Domain Land Sales Record Book
Census Record - Include Township/District, page and dwelling number
County Histories - Give title, author and page number
Birth, Marriage and Death Records - include photocopy of the original document
Probate Record - Include copy of will
Church Records -Give location
Tax Records

III. You may include as much additional information on your family as you wish.
Please submit only photocopies of the material as they can not be returned, but become the property of the Iowa County Genealogical Society.

Mail each completed application and documentation along with $10.00 for each certificate.
