BACH I am researching Peter BACH and his wife Barbara WAGNER both born in Prussian Germany and settled in Highland, Iowa Co. 1858. On the 1860 Fed. Census there is a Madis (Mathis) BACH and Elizabeth. From a cousin and from obits; we don't believe these two BACH families are related, yet BACH is not a common name. Does anyone know of the Madis BACH? Also on the census is a Chris WAGNER family. Does anyone know if these WAGNERS are related to Barbara WAGNER? The ages listed lead me to think that Chris would be a brother or uncle to Barbara if they were family. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Sandi (Mar 1999)

CONLEY Joseph and Margaret. Just took a trip to Platteville to the Karmann Library. Found court case from 1893, where Margaret charged Joseph with cruel and inhuman treatment. It indicated he had unlawfully confined her to mental institutions for up to six years. First it was Mendota in Madison, then the Iowa County insane assylum. The whole things has brought up many questions and discrepancies..First of all the maiden name is listed as Newnham, and we had thought it was Donahue. Second....there is no record of this couple in any census I've looked at. The family story is that they are buried in "a field in the township of Rewey, near some railroad tracks along the old road from Belmont." No one has located the graves in a long long time. I have no birth or death dates, but we're guessing they died in the early 1900's. I don't know where to go with this.... Sandy Everson (Dec 1999)

TREGLOWN My grandfather, William Garfield TREGLOWN was born in Linden, Wisconsin, in the late 1880's. I am trying to find out his father's first name (middle would help) as there are so many TREGLOWNs listed as having lived in Linden during the mining boom. Is anyone with more genealogy experience related to or know anything about the TREGLOWNs who once lived there? My grandfather moved to Butte, Montana, as a young man. My 90 year old aunt thinks his father is also buried in Butte, but, rather mysteriously to me, none of the three living grandchildren know his first name. (He died before they were born.) Thanks. Gay Knutson
PS-Is there an old cemetery in Linden that has many Cornishmen buried in it?
