HUBRICK Am
seeking information on my great grandfather, Michael HUBRICK or
any living descendants of this family. There was a Nicholas HUBRICK
who lived in Avoca and am wondering if there are any descendants
of Nicholas still living there? Also am interested in the SNYDER
family. I am descended from Henry SNYDER's son William Albert.
He had a brother Henry who died very young of an accident during
the use of black powder and blasting of trees. He (William Albert)
married Catherine HUBRICK, daughter of Michael HUBRICK. All these
people are buried in the Avoca cemetery. Apparently they all migrated
to Avoca from the towns of Sparta and Dansville, NY around 1870
or so. Also, the SCHWINGEL, DAX, GUMZ families are interrelated
and I understand many of them also came from the Sparta, Dansville,
Springwater, NY areas. Two of my great grandmother's sisters lived
in Avoca for a while--their names were Elizabeth HEGERY and Minnie
(Wilhelmina) AMOS. I believe the AMOS family returned to Springwater,
NY. Another of the sisters was Charlotte HEIN who was listed as
living in Madison in 1922. Nicholas was the brother of these women.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

KERST I believe that my great grandmother, Margaret Elizabeth
(Maggie) KERST, was born in Mineral Point, Iowa Co, WI. on Dec
25, 1865 I also believe, but not certain, that her parents were
Christopher KIRST/KERST, born in Prussia and Jane DAVIS GEDYE,
a native of Mineral Point.
My great grandmother, Margaret KERST, had a daughter, Catherine
(Kate) CALLAHAN, b November 15, 1884. I'm not sure if Margaret
was married to the father of the child or not. I do know that
Kate was raised, as his own, by my great grandfather, Leonard
TERRES/THERRES, after his 1887 marriage to Margaret. My great
grandparents were wed in St. Paul, MN in 1887. Leonard was born
in Fliessem (Fließem), Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany and emigrated
from Antwerp to MN in 1882.
Any information about my family is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

KRAMER I am seeking
any information on the family, especially ancestors, of William
Frederick KRAMER and his wife Frances HIGGON. William Frederick
KRAMER was reportedly born on July 1, 1854 in Iowa County, Wisconsin,
and apparently lived for some years in Iowa County.
His wife Frances HIGGON was reportedly born on October 11,1854
in Pembrokshire, South Wales, and came to Iowa County as an 11-year
old with her parents, William and Elizabeth HIGGON. She reportedly
had two brothers, James and John HIGGON. I have no further information
on her parents, William and Elizabeth HIGGON, who were presumably
from Wales.
William Frederick KRAMER and Frances HIGGON had three children:
William Leroy KRAMER, reportedly born in Jonesdale; Thomas KRAMER,
reportedly born in Mineral Point, and Pearl KRAMER. William Frederick
KRAMER reportedly died on Aug 28, 1923 (location unknown). Frances
HIGGON then moved to Oregon and died near McMinnville, OR in 1931.
Any information on these individuals, particularly locations of
death or information on ancestors, will be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you.

LEEK/LEECK/LUECK I'm trying to find information on my husband's family
tree (LUECK, LEEK & LEECK) in the Avoca area. My husband's
grandfather Wilhelm Gottlieb Julius LUECK (later known as William
Gottlieb Julius LEEK) was born Oct. 30, 1873 in Pulaski, Iowa
Co., WI to Gottlieb and Karoline LUECK. (We are searching for
information about Gottlieb and Karoline LUECK or tracing the family
back.) We have Wilhelm Gottlieb Julius LUECK's baptism form from
Dec. 1873 and confirmation form from April 1889 (in Muscoda),
with both forms partially in German. Wilhelm's siblings: Fred,
Albert, Adolph, Louise, Carrie and Annie. Then in August 1, 1900
in Avoca, Wilhelm (who was then known as William LEEK & was
from Avoca) married Elizabeth LISCHESKY (from Pulaski, Iowa County).
They had 3 children: Adeline (Lena), Mabel & Isabelle. They
divorced. Then William married Ida BUSSIE in 1915 in Avoca. William
and Ida had 4 children: Ranney (Rheinhold), Arthur, Herbert &
William Gene. William LEEK died in 1924. Then in 1928, his widow
Ida LEEK married Herman LEECK (of Titonka, IA & he was earlier
know as Herman Oskar LUECK & born in Plum Creek, IA to Carl
LUECK & Emma RICHTER). Ida & Herman had 3 kids: LeRoy,
Vernon & Marlene. There are LEEK & LEECK family members
who live in Wisconsin & Iowa. At a recent LEEK/LEECK Family
reunion, it sounded like Gottlieb William LEEK, Gustave J. LEEK,
Paulina LEEK (DeWITT), Amelia LEEK (FRIES) & Augusta LEEK
(SUDA) were siblings & they were cousins to William Gottlieb
Julius LEEK. We would appreciate any information about the LUECK/LEEK/LEECK
family especially about Gottlieb & Karoline LUECK. Thanks!

MOORE Researching parents of my great grandmother, Emily Jane
MOORE (b. 1848 in Benton, WI) married William James KENNEDY (b.
1851 in Ontario, CN) July 24, 1871. Emily Jane died 5 Nov. 1927
is buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Montfort.
Her parents names were John MOORE (from Cornwall, England) and
Elizabeth STEPHENS MOORE, who later married Henry HILL in Montfort.
Elizabeth died 4 June 1908, buried Hillcrest Cemetery, Montfort.
No idea where either of her husbands were buried, but I had found
a reference to a John MOORE in Mifflin?
My grandmother (Isa KENNEDY SCHUMANN) took my mother to the Laxey
Cemetery (Linden) when she was very young, and there are STEVENS
graves there. Unfortunately, my mother doesn't know who was buried
there that my grandmother was interested in. Elizabeth's father
was William and he was born in Cornwall, England. I think there
is a William STEVENS buried near Elizabeth in Hillcrest Cemetery,
Montfort. Shari Brunner

RICHARDS Looking for a mine accident that happened in 1847/1848
in the Mineral Point, Iowa County, Wisconsin. My Ggrandfather,
John RICHARDS (per his wife's obit) came to the Mineral Point
area in 1847, without his family, to establish a home. He sent
for his wife and seven children. When they arrived in Canada,
they found that he had been killed in a mine accident. His wife,
Elizabeth (ROGERS) RICHARDS was met by a man named James BENNETT,
who gave her the news of John's death. In 1849 Elizabeth married
James BENNETT and had 6 more children. I have been trying to locate
information on the mine accident and maybe find where John was
buried. So far have had no success. Elizabeth ROGERS and John
RICHARDS were married on Aug 20 1836 in Illogan Parish, Cornwall,
England. All seven of their children were born in Illogan. Does
anyone have any information on the mine accident in 1848 in the

SCHRIBER I am looking for information on Sebastian SCHRIBER who
was married to Elizabeth FISCHER and they lived in Arena, WI.
From what I have been told, Sebastian was a Methodist Minister.
He and his wife had six children, Edward, Ernest, Adam?, four
son name unknown, Jeanette and Anna. Anna was my Great Grandmother,
but I just found out about the rest of the kids in June. Sebastian
died July 7, 1888, I have a remembrance card but it does not list
where it was from or where he was buried. In June I found out
from my Great Aunt that he was buried in Arena, or so she thinks.
She remembered that he fell in a well and was trapped and died
shortly after being rescued. Elizabeth died circa 1887. I believe
that Edward moved to Riceville, Iowa, and Anna married my Great
Grandfather in Howard Co., Iowa. Jeanette married name was SLAWSON,
but not sure if that is the correct spelling. I would be interested
in any information that might be found about this family and if
there are any relatives still in Arena or that area, or if you
can tell me where Sebastian and Elizabeth are buried. Thank You.
