President:

  • Shall preside at all regular and special meetings of the society and of the executive board.
  • Shall appoint chairpersons of standing and temporary committees with the majority approval of the executive board or of the society.
  • Shall inform the Vice-President if he or she is going to be absent from a meeting and supply that person with the agenda and any necessary information.
  • Be an ex-officio member of all committees, except the Nominating Committee
  • Make all payments as authorized by the society or the executive board in the absence of the treasurer.
  • Create and follow monthly agenda
  • Sign, with the recording secretary, all contracts and documents authorized by the society

Vice-President:

  • Shall perform all duties of the president in his or her absence or at his or her request
  • Assume all duties of the president for remaining term of office in the event of vacancy
  • Be director of Program Committee and may appoint assistants in charge of any subcommittee as deemed necessary

Recording Secretary:

  • Shall keep the minutes of all regular and special meetings of the society and of the executive board.
  • Shall be custodian of these records
  • Shall furnish the president with a copy of the preceding month's meeting minutes no later than 1 week prior to the next scheduled meeting.
  • Maintain a current inventory of all legal documents, records, and equipment belonging to the society
  • Shall keep a record with the names of those present at each meeting
  • Notify officers, committees, and delegates of their appointments to their positions
  • Sign, with the president, all contracts and documents authorized by the society
  • Shall submit his or her records monthly at each meeting or as requested by any executive board member

Treasurer:

  • Shall receive all money for the society
  • Shall do all work necessary for banking matters
  • Shall keep an itemized accounting of all receipts and disbursements
  • Shall make all payments authorized by the society or the executive board
  • Shall submit his or her records monthly at each meeting or as requested by any executive board member
  • Shall furnish the president with a copy of the financial report each month, no later than 1 week prior to the next scheduled meeting.

Publicity-Newsletter:

  • Shall provide notice of each meeting to the area news media
  • Shall be in charge of collecting, editing, reproducing, and distribution of the society newsletter
  • Shall present the society library with a copy of each published newsletter
